About Your Fishing Guide - Mike Davis
Everyone dreams of finding a job where they wake up excited to go to work each day. I am truly blessed to be able to make a living doing the things I love the most, which is weather and fishing. I work at the National Weather Service in Old Hickory, TN, as the Information Technology Officer. Not only do I write scripts and manage networks, I teach spotter classes, work with Emergency Managers and media partners, and outreach to the public. I work severe weather events to help the office in protecting life and property of Middle Tennesseans.
After severe weather events, you will find me out in the communities assessing damage and talking with the victims impacted by the weather. Each year, I attend school career day events to promote the weather service and interact with kids that are interested in weather.
Most days I come home from work and head either straight to the lake or to the Little League ballfield. For over twenty years, I have coached and mentored to hundreds of kids; teaching boys and girls not only fundamentals of baseball, but life lessons and the importance of performing well on the field, as well as, at home, school, and the community. It makes it all worth while when a past or current player or parent approaches me with a smile and says, “Hi Coach Mike!” I strive to be a positive influence in my local community.
I have been bass fishing since I was a small boy with my mother and father and still love to fish for relaxation and competition. When I tournament fish, I challenge myself in catching fish, as well as, competing against others. The most enjoyable time on the lake is spending time with family and friends. You will find that my wife and two sons fish with me regularly, laughing and having great times together. Watching them catch fish is more enjoyable to me than catching my own fish. We have so many memories being on the lake and I hope you will join me so together we can create life long memories of your own.
From the experienced fisherman to the first timer, I get no greater pleasure than seeing the thrill on a person’s face after a great catch. Come spend some time with me on Old Hickory Lake north of Nashville for plentiful fishing and an all around great time.
