Profile of Mike Davis
Born in Orlando, Florida, Mike grew up around the water, making fishing a huge part of his life. Traveling around as his Father moved around, Mike had many opportunities to fish different areas. Fishing quickly became a source for relaxation, and becoming part of the Great Outdoors. In 1989, Mike graduated High School and followed his first dream of being a Meteorologist. After six years in the US Army, serving in Germany, and at Fort Sill, OK, not to mention a combat tour to the Persian Gulf for Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Mike continued his dream and was selected for the National Weather Service. Finally achieving his goal of working in weather to help in saving lives and property, he then moved to follow his dream of professional bass fishing. He has lived near Nashville, Tennessee since 1998 to continue his career in Nashville and started pursuing another life time goal, becoming a a professional angler.
Mike is extremely active in the community. Since the age of twelve, Mike started coaching Little League Baseball and being active with church youth groups. For over twenty years, Mike has coached and mentored to hundreds of kids; teaching boys and girls not only fundamentals of baseball, but life lessons and the importance of performing well on the field, as well as, at home, school, and the community. It makes it all worth while when a past or current player or parent approaches me with a smile and says, “Hi Coach Mike!” I strive to be a positive influence in my local community.
Mikes is the owner and lead guide for Mike Davis Outdoors and fishes on several local and national tournament trails. Mike is a member of several organizations including B.A.S.S., FLW, and American Bass Anglers along with conducting seminars and various boat shows. Mike has found being a guide has allowed him the most important thing about being a professional angler, time on the water. Mike spends an average of 280 days a year on the water conducting both guide trips and participating in fishing tournaments. Being a guide has placed him in the position to interact with numerous types of anglers and has allowed him to promote his sponsors products on a daily basis. Mike is also very involved in several “social networks” (i.e. Facebook, Twitter ect.) which allows him to interact with anglers throughout the U.S. and build a large customer base for both his business as well as his sponsors.
